Internationally Acclaimed Opera Star, James Valenti, has built a global reputation for his elegant musicianship, commanding stage presence, ardent style and voice of warm Italianate lustre. The 6’5” tenor trained at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, West Virginia University and Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Mr. Valenti made his professional debut at age twenty-five at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma as Rodolfo in the Franco Zeffirelli production of La Bohème and he has sung leading tenor roles all over the world at The Metropolitan Opera New York, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, La Scala Milan, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Royal Opera House London, Paris Opéra Bastille, Deutsche Opera Berlin, Salzburg Festival, Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, Sydney Opera House, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and Zürich. Mr. Valenti has been a recipient of many accolades and awards including The Richard Tucker Award for operatic excellence, the Maria Callas Debut Artist Award from Dallas Opera, The Mario Lanza Competition Award, The Sergio Franchi Music Foundation Award, The New York City Opera Outstanding Debut Award and he was the youngest inductee into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni at his alma mater WVU. Mr. Valenti is an accomplished recitalist having performed with The Schubert Club Series in Minnesota, The Rosenblatt Series in London, Candlelight Series in NYC and the St Hugh-Steinway Concert Series in Miami. Mr. Valenti has recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, appeared on a PBS “Live from Lincoln Center” telecast,  he was part of the national tour of the Broadway crossover show, “Rocktopia”, he was the guest soloist for Midnight Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, and he was a featured performer at the Italian Heritage Columbus Day Parade in New York City on ABC7. Recently he also performed at Carnegie Hall, The Greenbrier, Mar-a-Lago, Cipriani Wall Street, The Plaza, The National Polo Center in Wellington Florida, The Bentley Polo Championships in Scottsdale Arizona and he has been a featured performer on Formula 1 Grand Prix events for Ferrari in Austin, Milwaukee, Monterey and Indianapolis. Mr. Valenti is a passionate educator and is the committee chair of the Mildred May Award for aspiring opera singers from New Jersey. He has given masterclasses at The Oberlin Conservatory, The University of Texas Austin, The Festival of Singing at Westminster Choir College and outreach educational presentations to students with Baret Scholars. Additionally, Mr. Valenti is an active humanitarian, giving his time to many organizations, including helping children as a celebrity ambassador with the global organization Children International. He is originally from New Jersey and recently moved to Palm Beach, Florida.
